We're currently accepting audition videos for the first ever Battle the Night Lip Sync Challenge. We're looking for energy, creativity and most of all, people who love music having fun! Cash prizes to be won! Auditions are open to those who are 16 years of age and over, up and down the Valley, you can audition as a group or as a solo lip syncer - costumes and props encouraged (within reason of course!). Those selected to compete will take to the stage in Festival Hall in Pembroke on Friday October 21 to battle it out in front of judges and an audience! Funds raised from this event go to support the vital services of the Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre.

  Melissa Bishop Welcome Home Parade
Mark September 10th on your calendar. That's when the Village of Eganville will be welcoming back their Olympian Melissa Bishop with a homecoming parade. Bishop raced in the women’s 800 meter in Rio - placing fourth. One of the parade organizers, Gerald Tracey, says the village will be packed on the Saturday, so plan accordingly. The parade will start and end at Legion Field and will begin at 1:30pm. Tracey says they will then have a reception type event where Melissa will be available for autographs and will address the crowd. There will also be music and food vendors on site as well.

It's all happening at the same time, in the same community hall kitchen, in the same small town. Stag and Doe offers a laugh-filled look at a distinctly rural Canadian prenuptial tradition ... and shines a light on love, marriage, and weddings. Bonnie and Brad are having a Stag and Doe to pay for their upcoming wedding. Dee, their Maid of Honour, is still getting over being left at the altar. Mandy and Rob are getting married, even though their wedding tent blew away in last night's storm. And Jay just found out his entire catering staff is in jail. It's all happening at the same time, in the same community hall kitchen, in the same small town. Stag and Doe offers a laugh-filled look at a distinctly rural Canadian prenuptial tradition ... and shines a light on love, marriage, and weddings. Stag and Doe features an energetic young cast, including newcomers to Stone Fence Theatre Danielle Bissonnette, Melissa Lindsay, and Kelley Oliver, as well as returning veterans Joshua McCoy and Stephanie Pinkerton, Chris Hoffman, Phil Hoffman , with MC Valley Vic and traditional pre-show music by Ish Theilheimer, Jim Beattie and friends. On September 27th Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation will be hosting a workshop in partnership with McLaren Health & Safety Consulting, to help business owners and employees understand how to manage Health & Safety in their workplace. Renfrew County's Health & Safety Bootcamp is rooted in the idea of helping business and organizations in the area develop sustainable safety programs that will reduce injuries and illnesses and increase the bottom line. Featuring a panel of expert speakers and industry professionals, the workshop is based on the idea of helping organizations become Occupational Health & Safety leaders in the Valley. Renfrew County's Health & Safety Bootcamp will take place at the Horton Community Centre from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The cost is $45.00 per person, which includes registration, lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Seating is limited, so we ask that you reserve your spot by September 19.
