Sunday marks the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and Friday a private vigil was held outside of the Woman's Rural Resource Centre to remember the victims of the Montreal Massacre. It was back in 1989 that 14 women were killed as they sat in their engineering classroom. The day was declared by the Canadian Government as a National Day of Remembrance in 1991. Executive Director of the WRRC Kathern Eggert says it's not only a day of remembrance but also a day of action.
Listen:
Eggert sent out a challenge to each resident of Strathroy-Caradoc to think of something that they could do to help eliminate violence against women.
